Rosalind- You are a warrior for braving this to begin with: “From the beginning, the house was a handful.  A Victorian-style house built of stucco and Pennsylvania fieldstone around 1900, it boasted a large, elevated front porch, ceiling beams and dentil moldings, lots of built-in shelves and cabinets, chair-rails in every room, and some of the original leaded glass windows.” Can imagine the joys and the challenges that come with this place. I appreciate you sharing. 🙌🏼

Great story Rosalind! 👏 Life has its chapters. After 30 years in our MA home, we moved to a single story house in southern CA. It's bliss, and the 70s are indeed lovely (so far). We have friends who put off moving until forced to by health problems. Better to move preventively rather than in the midst of a crisis. Enjoy living in Philly (I attended Haverford College back in the Frank Rizzo days)!

Stuff is a bottomless pit. It’s taken us years to lighten the load to live in an almost monastic environment. I don’t miss anything that I’ve gotten rid of. Relationships, experience, and self-awareness are more valuable than anything.

Doing the same thing this summer. It’s bittersweet but my parents waited too long and then they had to leave hastily for medical reasons. That memory still haunts me. So cheers to new addresses and more memories to be made!
